Og panels - default panel page for groups

Organic groups is a well used drupal module. I have been a fan of it for a long time and I am currently working with the module on one of my biggest projects so far.

The panels module is also a very popular module. Panels 3 is a stable version that you may use on production sites. Organic groups and panels together is a powerful combination. There is a dev-version of a module that gives you the oppertunity to tell a group that is shall have a default panel layout (withe predefined content set up by admin), a great feature that I think will be popular.

This tutorial is a step by step lesson on how to configure the og_panels module. Click on images to view them in full size.

1. Enable og_panels module.
2. Edit Node View Template.
3. Add youre Organic Group Node as Content Type in the pop-up window.
4. Add a new variant. Call it og_homepage and choose Panel as Variant. Optional Features should be Selection Rules and Context.
5. Select Node Type and choose youre Organic Group Node as content type in the pop-window.
6. Add a Relationship "Organic Group from Node" – click save in the pop-up window and continue to the next screen.
7. Choose youre desired layout.
8. Add Content. from the pop-up menu you can now choose content from the Organic Group Tab. Click Create Variant when finished.
